The first episode aired in April 2009, and the first winner of MasterChef Australia was Julie Goodwin, a 38 year old I.T. office manager. Season 2 of MasterChef Australia premiered on 19 April 2010 and the winner of the 2010 series of MasterChef was Adam Liaw, who won by a seven-point margin over his opponent Callum Hann. And the third season of MasterChef Australia went to air in 2011 and the season was won by Kate Bracks, who defeated Michael Weldon in the series final.

So now that you have been refreshed about the background about the show, let’s try to find out more about what to expect from this season. For the first time in this show the Top 50 will begin their magical MasterChef journey in Melbourne, which is also known for its culinary culture. It is here where the contestants will have to utilize every skill in their cooking arsenal as they will fight for a coveted Top 24 apron. And with the deserving recipients heading back to Sydney as the title battle truly begins.

Will they include audience favorites like the Mystery Box Challenge and Invention Test? Well guess what, the answer is a yes and news is that it will be better than ever. Immunity challenges will also feature with more fairly balanced opponents facing off against the chosen contestant plus their choice of two contestant helpers. As part of this, both the contestant team and challenging team must prepare three courses using a core ingredient provided, with ninety minutes for the contestants and sixty for the challengers.

The battle is almost ready to begin, so get ready to fill your eyes, hearts and stomachs. MasterChef Season 4 is starting on Star World from 14th June, Monday to Friday at 9pm. Do let us know your views and reviews about this new season.
